Are we True Christian

This morning read a posting from a friend and this is what I read.
  • Pastor Jeremiah Steepek (pictured below) transformed himself into a homeless person and went to the 10,000 member church that he was to be introduced as the new... pastor that morning. He walked around his soon to be church for 30 minutes while it was filling with people for service....only 3 people out of the 7-10,000 people said hello to him. He asked people for change to buy food....NO ONE in the church gave him change. He went into the sanctuary to sit down in the front of the church and was asked by the ushers if he would please sit n the back. He greeted people to be greeted back with stares and dirty looks, with people looking down on him and judging him.

As he sat in the back of the church, he listened to the church announcements and such. When all that was done, the elders went up and were excited to introduce the new pastor of the church to the congregation........"We would like to introduce to you Pastor Jeremiah Steepek"....The congregation looked around clapping with joy and anticipation.....The homeless man sitting in the back stood up.....and started walking down the aisle.....the clapping stopped with ALL eyes on him....he walked up the altar and took the microphone from the elders (who were in on this) and paused for a moment....then he recited

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

After he recited this, he looked towards the congregation and told them all what he had experienced that morning...many began to cry and many heads were bowed in shame.... he then said....Today I see a gathering of people......not a church of Jesus Christ. The world has enough people, but not enough disciples...when will YOU decide to become disciples? He then dismissed service until next week.......Being a Christian is more than something you claim. I'ts something you live by and share with others.
  • I will say after reading this I was not surprised, the reaction people had when a homeless person approaches you.  The sermon was befitting for what had happen and the congregations reaction, yet it is sad the even christians can react badly we forget the word of God.  It is so true being a Christian is something you live by.
  • 1 Corinthians 13:4-7,13
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Faith (Can it be shaken)

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen

Yesterday two young Mormon Elders came visiting again, they came to share their faith they visited before and I was okay with it, as usual I am not one to confront or debate doctrine or theology.  I stand on the promises of God, knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt that God was with me and he would speak for me. They wanted to leave asome literature, at first I took it than I returned it and apologize and explain to them that I did not want to waste their literature that they could use it to share with some else, they politely ask me to humor them and to take it.
During the course of our sharing they shared their beliefs and I shared mine. I shared this scripture with them 1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
It was not a matter of who's doctrine or theology is right or wrong its a matter of sharing the love and the word of God with your neighbor,  Before we parted ways there was a reassurrance that indeed I was ok, they politely ask me if I ever need anything to just call them. I reassured them that I was okay.  These scriptures were my reassurance of God's unfailing love for me
John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

Romans 13:9b-10 and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”[c] 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

Galatians 5:22-26 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

The question "Can someone faith and belief be shaken?"  For me answering my own question, "yes" it can be shaken if God isn't the true foundation of your life.  With God as the true foundation and the cornerstone of your life you can withstand anything that trys to shake your faith, you are able pick yourself up dust yourself off and move forward sometime its easier said then done.  With God you can get through it.  My faith has come full circle it doesn't mean I am out of the woods the devil uses everything in his arsenal to entrap us.
1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
